To alleviate the burden of lawn care chores, robotic lawnmowers are transforming how we maintain our gardens and yards. These innovative devices offer a convenient solution, allowing us to enjoy a perfectly manicured lawn without the time-consuming effort usually required. However, as with any technology, users may encounter various issues related to their performance and functionality. Common problems can include navigation errors, battery life concerns, or maintenance needs such as blade sharpening and cleaning. Troubleshooting these issues is essential to ensure that the robotic lawnmowers operate efficiently, delivering optimal results and enhancing the overall enjoyment of our outdoor spaces. By understanding the common challenges and how to address them, we can maximize the benefits of these advanced machines and reduce our workload even further. The text below outlines various types of problems and their possible outcomes for easier navigation.

 INSTALLATION TROUBLESHOOT

Users often experience confusion regarding the ideal location for installing the mower, which can lead to multiple troubleshooting issues.

  • The mower was unable to return to the base station after completing its work.

  • Shaded and tall trees near the installation site.

Here are some tips you should follow to avoid the issues mentioned above.

  1. For GOMOW users, keep a 2-meter (6.56-foot) clearance on both sides and a 2-meter (6.56-foot) clearance in front of the station, keeping it away from obstacles, such as houses, trees, and walls.

  2. Install the charging station on a flat surface and ensure it is not installed at an angle. If there is grass at the installation site, clear and level the ground first for optimal installation.

WEAK GPS SIGNAL

Sometimes a user may face problems like,

  • Notification on the app showing a weak GPS signal

  • Where to install RTK

  • Not showing a strong connection after installing RTK

Here are some valuable tips to help you steer clear of the challenges discussed above,

  1. For optimal satellite signal reception and stable operation of the robot mower, install the antenna station in an open space or roof/attic.

  2. Ensure that the open sky has a minimum of 90° of unobstructed view.

  3. Also, avoid places like near the garage, swimming pool, and tall trees.

 STEEP SLOPS

In most cases, lawn mowers are not very effective on steep slopes or uneven terrain.

  • The mower is getting stuck

  • Uneven cuts

  • Several error codes are appearing on the app

GOMOW is capable of effectively managing slopes of up to 24o degrees. However, for slopes exceeding 45%, we recommend utilizing push lawnmowers for trimming and maintenance. This approach will ensure optimal results and maintain the quality of the landscape.

DEFAULT ON NO-MOW-ZONES

Areas designated as "no mow zones" are specific locations where mowing is intentionally avoided to protect certain features, such as flowerbeds, or to keep certain areas clear, like around tall trees or swimming pools.

  • Mower surpasses the no-mow zones.

  • Mower bumps into tall trees.

To troubleshoot this type of problem, please redo your mapping. Erase everything on the map and then recreate your no-mow zone mapping. This often resolves glitches like this. If the issue persists, please follow up with our Customer Service Representative (CSR) team for further assistance.

UNEVEN CUTTING

Uneven cutting can lead to significant issues, such as bald patches and an uneven appearance in the grass.

  • Long grass can be seen in certain areas.

  • The blades of grass have an abrasive texture.

There are a few important factors to consider when mowing grass, as different types of grasses have distinct features. For example, some grasses are dense and coarse, while others may be taller. Before setting your mower, it's essential to understand the type of grass in your yard.

If you're dealing with tall fescue or similar varieties, you may need to adjust the mower to prevent clogs. Additionally, ensure that the mower blades are sharp; if they are dull, replace them for optimal cutting performance.

It's also important to refer to the recommended cutting height for different grass types. For the GOMOW mower, you can set the cutting height between 25 mm and 65 mm (1 inch to 2.5 inches).

 BETTARY RUNS OUT QUICKLY

The most common problem users face is that the battery wears out quickly.

  • Mower returns to the base station more frequently to recharge

  • Battery overheated

When managing multiple mowing zones, especially in larger areas, it is advisable to schedule the cutting times for each zone on different days rather than on the same day. If challenges continue to arise, it may be necessary to consider replacing the battery.

DIFFICULTY FACING MULTIPLE ZONES

Users may encounter challenges when managing multiple mowing zones, particularly in terms of connectivity and maneuvering the mower effectively.

  • Multiple zones are not connecting properly

When managing multiple areas, be sure to map each one carefully. After saving your configurations, click on "Add Channel" or "Bridging" to ensure your mower can find its way back to the base station without getting lost. DEFAULT AI VISION

The AI vision serves as a crucial safety feature and rarely malfunctions. To troubleshoot it, please follow the guidelines provided.

  • Mower bumped into objects

  • Obstacle avoidance is not working properly

To ensure optimal performance of the AI cameras, please take the following steps:

1. Clean the AI cameras thoroughly.

2. Update the software to its latest version.

3. Delete all existing data and initiate a fresh setup.

4. Address any persistent issues as they arise.

If problems persist, please refer to the displayed error codes for guidance on resolution.

RAIN SENSORS NOT WORKING

  • The mower is not returning to the charging hub when it rains

It is important to regularly clean the sensors of the mower to ensure optimal performance. Additionally, please verify the app settings for any potential issues or error codes. In the event of forecasted heavy rain or thunderstorms, it is advisable to cancel all scheduled mowing for the remainder of the day to ensure safety and equipment integrity.

IMPORTANT TIP

If you encounter any error codes within your application, we recommend consulting the user manual for optimal resolution. Each error code corresponds to specific issues, and the manual provides detailed guidance on how to address them effectively. Additionally, there is a supplementary article dedicated to error codes that may assist users further.
